Should I expect more money for a high-efficiency unit versus a modest unit?
Generally, the high-efficiency is a better investment. It will have a better warranty, you can get rebates from the utility company because of the high-efficiency, and it costs less to operate. A high-efficiency until can save you as much as 40% off your current heating costs!
If there’s ever a problem with my HVAC system, can I count on you to come out and fix it?
Yes – we pride ourselves in being responsive. We will come out as soon as we can and will work to square away any problems and get your unit working again.
Do you offer WIFI thermostats?
Yes – it comes with two sensors so you can detect temps in two rooms. We like the EcoBee brand, because it is affordable compared to other options. Once you have your new thermostat hooked up to your WIFI, you can download an app to your smart phone and monitor and change temperatures from your phone.
How often should I have maintenance on my unit?
Your HVAC unit should be serviced twice a year. Your Air conditioner should be checked before every cooling season. In Bucks County, that is generally April, May or June. Your heater should be checked before every cooling season. In Bucks County, that is generally September or October.
What is the average lifespan of an HVAC system?
15 to 20 years is normal. If it has lasted 20 years – you should probably replace it. Today’s units are much more efficient, and you don’t want to risk a system failure that could leave you without heat or air conditioning when you need it most.
How often should hot water heaters be replaced?
Hot water heaters should be replaced about every 12 years. In some areas, water conditions require replacement sooner. It is better to replace than to come home to a pool of water in your basement or hot water closet.
